Sexual and Reproductive Health of women and LGBTQ+ international students from India

Welcome to the Sexual and Reproductive Health Research Collective

We are a community-driven research team, located in British Columbia, working to understand and improve the sexual and reproductive health of South Asian women and LGBTQ+ international students from India.

Through collaboration between researchers, community partners, and grassroots organizations, this project aims to identify barriers, amplify voices, and create culturally safe, trauma-informed pathways to care.

Our work is guided by feminist, anti-racist, and postcolonial frameworks, centering the lived experiences of those most affected.

We respectfully acknowledge that our in-person meetings at Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Surrey campus took place on the unceded, traditional, and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Katzie, Semiahmoo, Tsawwassen, Qayqayt, and Kwikwetlem peoples, and on the lands of the Kwantlen First Nation. We also met online from across the Lower Mainland and honour the original caretakers of these lands, including the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, Stó:lō, and all other First Nations whose territories extend throughout this region. We are grateful for the opportunity to gather, learn, and work on these lands, and to have hosted our event on their territories.
